SafetyConnect was thrilled to participate in the PSCI India Supplier Conference, held from September 24th to 26th in Goa. This highly anticipated event brought together key stakeholders and professionals from the pharmaceutical industry, providing a platform for individuals to gain expert insights on pivotal topics, share best practices, and explore upcoming trends. The conference is known for promoting discussions around the PSCI Principles, which emphasize responsible business practices, sustainability, and safety within the industry.

The conference, hosted by the Pharmaceutical Supply Chain Initiative (PSCI), was a melting pot of ideas and experiences. SafetyConnect's CEO, Mr. Thanmai Deekshith, had the honor of co-delivering a session titled "Driving Towards Road Safety" alongside Mr. Mahesh Chandak. The talk brought attention to the critical topic of road safety, particularly its relevance to the pharmaceutical sector. The industry, known for its extensive fieldwork and logistics operations, places a significant number of employees on the road, making road safety a top priority.

The session highlighted that road safety isn't just about accident prevention—it’s a holistic approach that encompasses employee well-being, compliance, and overall operational efficiency. Thanmai and Mr. Chandak shed light on the various categories of employees affected by road safety challenges, including sales representatives who spend a large part of their day commuting, employees using company shuttle buses for transportation, and those driving their own vehicles for work-related purposes.

They emphasized that organizations within the pharmaceutical sector have a unique sphere of influence. As such, companies have the power and responsibility to safeguard their most valuable assets—their people. The discussion covered practical steps on how companies can launch driving safety programs tailored to their specific needs and how they can leverage technology solutions like telematics to ensure these programs yield meaningful results. The role of data and analytics in identifying unsafe driving patterns and the impact of technology-driven interventions were key focus points.

In addition to the impactful talk, SafetyConnect set up a booth on the first day of the event, where industry professionals had the opportunity to explore the capabilities of SafetyConnect’s driving safety solution. The booth demonstrated how telematics and AI-powered safety solutions could revolutionize road safety management for organizations. Attendees were particularly keen to understand how SafetyConnect could help them implement comprehensive driving safety strategies that could address the unique road safety challenges faced by the pharmaceutical industry.

Beyond road safety, the conference featured diverse sessions on various subjects such as decarbonization, explosion prevention, industrial hygiene, and ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) reporting. Industry experts shared valuable insights on human rights, ethics, and responsible business conduct, highlighting the multifaceted approach needed to address the complex challenges facing the pharmaceutical industry.

Overall, the PSCI India Supplier Conference 2024 was an enriching experience for all attendees. The event provided a platform not only for SafetyConnect to advocate for road safety but also to network with like-minded professionals and explore synergies to promote safer, more sustainable practices within the pharmaceutical industry. SafetyConnect looks forward to continuing its collaboration with the PSCI and supporting the industry in creating safer roads for all.
